New York Times Weekend Music: Mikel Rouse’s ~/Library/Mouth/Congress/
Seth Colter Walls says in the The New York Times: “~/Library/Mouth/Congress/,” the latest independent effort by Mikel Rouse, set for release on Friday. Another American composer with a penchant for samples, Rouse assembles his fieriest collection in recent years, and it turns on politically pointed (or exhausted) opuses like “Spokecard.” On these and other tracks, he employs samples provided by the Library of Congress’s open-source Citizen DJ tool.
